Осталось меньше суток до того момента, как календарь перевернет очередной лист и наступит новый год.

Priscilla Irish book - figure 19

Cold november wnd is promicing to bring a heavy snowfalls in a couple of days. And so for today's lesson I've chosen a figure 19 from Priscilla boof of Irish Crochet #1. This motif looks so mush like a snowflake, that I could not resist it. It's a very simple element, which can be used as a motif or a part of a mesh, combuned with any lacy square motif.  As usual I've taken  Violet Yarnart thread and  1 mm crochet.

For almost a year I had a desire to translate "The Book of Irich crochet " into russian, providing it with step-by-step instrustions on each motif. And finally I've started it. Today's element is a flower/leaf with three petals, you can find it on page 5 and 6, figure 14 and 15. Without a central picot row this motif can serve as a shamrock, and with it looks like a tradescantia flower. Just like any element in IC it is crocheted over  padding cord, so you have to prepare yarn for a PC and a working thread.

I really wanted to try IC with a pure silk thread. But the price of the yarn and texture were the main reason not to do so, since the silk that is used here for carpetweaving is pretty thick. A couple of weeks ago I've spotted in LYS brighg colors and silky shine of Alize Diva and decided to give it a try for a spring-autumn models.
